Site location (stack of deep-sea cores SU8118 and MD952042): 37°45'N, 10°10'W Sea-surface temperatures were measured with the alkenone method (calibration of Prahl et al. 1988). The time scale is compatible with the new GRIP chronology of Johnsen et al. (2001).
