(for obliquity-tuned time scale and stacks) ADDITIONAL REFERENCES for O-18 data are listed in Table 1 of Karner et al. GEOGRAPHIC REGION: Global PERIOD OF RECORD: 861 KYrBp - Present LIST OF FILES: readme_karner2002.txt (this file), benthic_stack.xls (Microsoft Excel format), benthic_stack.txt (tab-delimited text format), karner2002.txt (concatenated readme and benthic_stack.txt). DESCRIPTION: Benthic stack timescale calibration notes: The O-18 data from each core are in per mil and were species corrected to Cibicidoides wuellerstorfi as per Shackleton and Hall (1984). Data are not available for entries labeled 999.00. Ages for each core are in kyr and were determined by tuning to obliquity after applying initial radioisotopic age control for marine isotopic stages 6.0, 12.0 and the centroid of 19. After obliquity tuning, core tops were adjusted to age=0 ka then data were interpolated to 1 kyr values. Minimally tuned stack is the mean O-18 value at each kyr interval for the nine cores; 1 sigma is 1 standard deviation from the mean. No data are posted for top of stack until data from two cores are available. Tropical stack is the mean for cores ODP Site 659, 664, 677, 846, 849, and core TT013-PC72; 1 sigma is 1 standard deviation from the mean.
