DESCRIPTION: #1 Kelly981.xls contains various shape parameters measured from specimens of planktic foraminifera with each specimen's accompanying stable isotope (13C/12C and 18O/16O) values. The shell shape data was collected with digitizing software. Please refer to the Original Reference for definitions of each of the shape variables recorded. The study materials are of latest Paleocene age and were collected from Ocean Drilling Program Site 865 in the central, tropical Pacific Ocean (lat. 18 degrees, 26.41 minutes NORTH, long. 179 degrees, 33.34 minutes W). ODP Site 865 is located atop Allison Guyot in the Mid-Pacific Mountains and was drilled in a water depth of 1,518 meters. All stable isotope values are reported relative to the PeeDee Belemnite (PDB) standard with a machine precision of better than +or- 0.1 per mil. #2 Data file Kelly982.xls contains assemblage count information reflecting species' relative abundances and species diversity. The counts were carried out on planktic forams >125 micrometers. #3 Data file Kelly983.xls contains stable isotope ratios (13C/12C and 18O/16O) measured from individual specimens belonging to the planktic foram genus Subbotina.
