STUDY NOTES: DESCRIPTION: High-resolution (~5 year) oxygen isotope record from Dongge Cave, southern China, covering the past 9,000 years. Data from stalagmite DA, Dongge Cave (25°17'N, 108°5E, elevation 680 m), China. Shifts in the oxygen isotope ratio of the stalagmite largely reflect changes in d18O values of meteoric precipitation at the site, which in turn relate to changes in the amount of precipitation and thus characterize the strength of the Asian Monsoon.
