STUDY NOTES: The Invertebrate Paleontology Collection of Cincinnati Museum Center focuses on fossil invertebrate taxa from mid-continental North America, with particular emphasis on the middle Ohio Valley (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana). The collection of Upper Ordovician fossils, focusing on the uniqueness of the Cincinnati succession, is the world's largest and is unequalled in its scope and quality. The Invertebrate Paleontology Collection also houses a significant type collection, consisting of approximately 3,000 type specimens, and a Paleobotany Collection, containing approximately 1,800 specimens, consisting mainly of Pennsylvanian Mazon Creek and Terre Haute material.
