STUDY NOTES: The UMMP Invertebrate Paleontology Collection consists of an estimated 2 million specimens (~350,000 lots) of invertebrate macro and microfossils. The collection is organized in three major sections: a Systematic Collection, a Stratigraphic Collection, and a Type and Figured Collection. Areas of strength include the Devonian and Silurian of the Michigan Basin , the Paleozoic of the US midcontinent, and the Mesozoic of northern Mexico. The Type and Figured Collection houses nearly 14000 specimens, making it one of the largest in the US.
