  <Summary>
Climate variability of the Northwest Pacific is determined, on the one hand, by global climatic processes and, on the other hand, by the specific features of the region. Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) plays a key role here. It determines the spatial and seasonal redistribution of air temperature, temperature of surface water, and precipitation. In this paper, we make an attempt to estimate long-term temperature variations (from tens to hundreds of years), which occurred on the Earth&apos;s surface of Kunashir Island over the last 400 years. This study is based on borehole temperature data and tree-ring records. Merging these data, which operate in different frequency ranges, is not trivial and not yet sufficiently developed.
