STUDY NOTES: The Vertebrate Paleontology Collection of Cincinnati Museum Center is particularly strong in local (Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky) Pleistocene and Holocene fossils, including material from Big Bone Lick, Kentucky (the birthplace of American Vertebrate Paleontology). Holdings from the Devonian Cleveland Shale of Ohio and equivalent units in New York and Kentucky, Mesozoic marine vertebrates, and juvenile sauropods from the Morrison Formation Montana are strengths. There are over 100 type, figured, and referred specimens in the collection.
