Low latitude, high altitude ice core programs such as Quelccaya and Dunde require international 
cooperation with individuals from several nations working together to achieve a common goal: increased 
understanding of Earth's climatic system. Putting politics aside, researchers operate in a truly international 
scientific community, one whose only boundaries are those of knowledge.
