Part of a transect of spruce sites sampled to assess the change of growth/climate relationships of spruce with elevation in the Bavarian Forest. Summit site with some trees sampled on western side. Only spruce. Relatively damp site. Lightening damage on some trees. There are 5 radii from an old tree that goes back to ca. 1540. This tree unfortunately is very suppressed prior to 1640 and there are major data problems for this first 100 year period. It cannot be corrected due to lack of any other trees of this age.
