Dannenstern House, Riga, Latvia - LATV001 Additional Site Information Maris Zunde This chronology has been produced for the beams of a house in Riga (Latvia) built by the well-known Dutch merchant E. M. von Dannenstern, the absolute dating of which is confirmed by comparison with dendrochronologies from various European countries. This chronology closely resembles a chronology for a house in south-eastern England, studied by C. Groves (t > 14.0). The timbers are thought to have been supplied from one and the same area. There is reason to believe that this area was neither in England, nor in Latvia, but most likely within present-day Belarus. Chronology prepared in ARSTAN.
