Detrend method: Negative exponontial or linear regression with negative or 0 slope. Picea engelmannii samples were collected near treeline on Grass Mountain in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana. The site is a mixed stand of Picea engelmanni and Pinus albicaulis. A 1300-year Pinus albicaulis chronology has been developed from samples collected at the same site. Grass Mountain is part of a grid of northern Rocky Mountain tree-ring stations used to study spatial and temporal variation in climate and treeline dynamics.
