We were only allowed to core 30 trees and taking one core/tree. A few trees were rotten or had breaks and reaction rings. Those with sections of missing ring of reaction wood after an injury were cut into two series. They can be spliced together using the latest version of ARSTAN available from the web site of the Tree-Ring Lab of Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. A few cores just do not crossdate well because of local forest disturbance. For example, one of the oldest individuals of the update was studied for more than a day by two different people. Its dating since the 1900 is as good as it can be. Dating and measuring was performed by Kacie Tackett, Uyanga Ariya and Neil Pederson. Ms. Ariya performed most of the measurments.
